GARCHES
(HAUTS-DE-SEINE, PARIS AREA)

Competition for an urban complex
Architect: François Rodier
September 1987

The competition, on a site adjacent to the Garches hospital, was held within the context of real estate development on land owned by the Assistance Publique - Hospitals of Paris. It was situated in a neighbourhood of individual housing dating from the 19th century.

The project proposed a compex consisting of apartment buildings, town houses, sports and cultural installations, and a hotel, all this within a residential park. The composition of built and open space was designed in continuity with the existing tissue.
