The French part of the work will be centred on Cauterets, a town with a very long history of thermal baths. Therefore I head for Baños de Panticosa, a spa known for its springs. One goes up a gorge, precipitous and mineral, to finally arrive in a deep cirque at the foot of the Vignemale Mountain. The entire valley is covered with waterfalls. There is a lake in the centre; beyond it is a park occupied by the buildings of the thermal establishments which date from different epochs...
