THE TOWN
THAT NEVER SLEEPS

Benidorm, Costa Blanca
10th August, 2000
8:40 - 9:53 PM

Benidorm is a high density Spanish coastal resort that is inhabited only during the holiday season. This picture follows the town as it slides from late afternoon and the desertion of the beaches into pulsating, night-clubbing darkness. Falling dusk over the sea coexists with pulsating city lights.

Move the mouse over the picture to vary night and day over the sea and the town. Move down the diagonal from top left to bottom right, to make night fall.

This picture contains a catch - sea and town have been disassociated. As you move down the opposing diagonal from top right to bottom left, the sun sets over the town… while it rises over the sea.

If you hold the mouse down, the picture freezes in its current state.
